Retatrutide-Obesity
This information is provided in response to your request. Resources may contain information about doses, uses, formulations and populations different from product labeling.
How does retatrutide compare with other incretin-based therapies?
No head-to-head active comparator trials have been completed against retatrutide therefore no efficacy or safety comparisons can be made at this time. Information about ongoing active comparator trials for retatrutide in obesity and T2D is provided below.
TRIUMPH-5 Head-to-Head Comparison Trial of Retatrutide vs Tirzepatide in Obesity With or Without T2D
TRIUMPH-5 is an ongoing phase 3 randomized, double-blind clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of retatrutide compared with tirzepatide in adults with obesity with or without type 2 diabetes (T2D).1
The study is expected to run for approximately 80 weeks and will enroll approximately 800 adults with
- obesity with or without T2D, and
- a history of at least 1 self-reported unsuccessful dietary effort to reduce body weight.1
The primary outcome measure is percent change in body weight from baseline to week 80. Changes in body mass index, waist circumference, and other cardiometabolic measures are secondary outcomes.1
TRANSCEND-T2D-2 Head-to-Head Comparison Trial of Retatrutide vs Semaglutide in Type 2 Diabetes
TRANSCEND-T2D-2 is an ongoing phase 3 randomized, multicenter, open-label study that will investigate efficacy and safety of retatrutide once weekly (QW) compared with semaglutide QW in participants with T2D and inadequate glycemic control with metformin with or without sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor (SGLT2i).2
The study plans to enroll approximately 1,250 adults with T2D and overweight or obesity and will run for approximately 80 weeks. The primary outcome measure is change in hemoglobin A1c (%) from baseline to week 80. Changes in body weight, systolic blood pressure and other cardiometabolic measures are secondary outcomes.2
