Eli Lilly and Company has decided to discontinue the Tempo diabetes management platform, which includes the systems, products, and brand.

What Tempo Products Will be Discontinued and When?
Eli Lilly and Company will phase out the Tempo Diabetes Management Platform by December 2026, including
- Tempo Smart Button™
- Tempo Pens™
- Tempo Smart™ App
- Tempo Insights™ Platform, and
- Tempo™ blood glucose meter (BGM).1

After July 27, 2026, Tempo Pens will no longer be available at retail pharmacies. Patients may use their existing Tempo Pens (with or without the Smart Button) until the expiry date on their carton and pen. |

After December 2026, all support for the Tempo Diabetes Management Platform will end. |

How Will Patients Transition to new Products?
Tempo Pens will no longer be available at retail pharmacies by July 27, 2026. Basaglar, Humalog, and Lyumjev are available in the equivalent Kwikpen, and clinical judgment is advised for patient transitions. Prescriptions will not automatically change to a different pen. Patients can continue to use their existing Tempo Pens (with or without the Smart Button) until the expiry date on their carton and pen.1
Tempo BGM and supplies (strips and control solution) will no longer be available after December 31, 2025. Patients can continue using their Tempo™ BGM as long as they have supplies. Advise patients to switch to compatible BGM or CGM before the patient's supplies run out.1
Tempo Smart Buttons will be available for new users until December 31, 2025. Existing users can call Lilly Tempo Team for replacement while supplies last or through July 27, 2026. HCP confirmation is required.1
