What part of the device contains dry natural rubber latex?

A small amount of dry natural rubber (DNR) latex is used in the orange rubber stopper (septum). The septum is on the front end of the teriparatide cartridges, where the needle is pushed in. The DNR is used on the outside (visible) part of the septum.1

The DNR is not in contact with the medicine, and it does not come into contact with the skin when a dose is injected.1

DNR is not known to cause allergic reactions in most people.1

Allergic reactions

Allergic reactions to Forsteo or its components are rarely reported.2

Forsteo is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.2
