How should patients store Omvoh® (mirikizumab) pre-filled pens and syringes?

Store at 2ºC -8ºC in the original package to protect from light. Do not freeze. Patients only may store their devices unrefrigerated not above 30ºC for 2 weeks.

What are the recommended storage conditions?

  • Store in a refrigerator (2 ºC – 8 ºC).
  • Do not freeze.
  • Store in the original package in order to protect from light.1

Patients may store mirikizumab unrefrigerated for up to 2 weeks at a temperature not above 30 ºC. If these conditions are exceeded, mirikizumab must be discarded.1

The allowable room temperature storage time may be one single 14-day exposure or can be broken up into multiple exposures. There is no limit to the number of room temperature exposures as long as the total time does not exceed 14 days (336 hours) for each individual device. 2

The 14-day storage allowance is for patient use only. Wholesalers, Distribution Centers, Healthcare Providers and Pharmacies MAY NOT use any part of the 14-day room temperature storage time.2 

How should patients store the medication during dose administration?

Pre-filled pens

Patients planning to administer their dose should store their pens (2 pens)

  • at room temperature for 30 minutes before injecting to treat Ulcerative Colitis, and 45 minutes to treat Crohn's Disease,
  • with the grey base caps still on, and 
  • away from direct sunlight.3

Pre-filled syringes

Patients planning to administer their dose should store their syringes (2 syringes)

  • at room temperature for 30 minutes before injecting to treat Ulcerative Colitis, and 45 minutes to treat Crohn's Disease,
  • with the needle caps still on, and 
  • away from direct sunlight.4

What is the shelf-life?

The shelf life is 2 years.1

How to interpret the expiry date on the package

If the expiration date is printed as the month and year, the medicine expires on the last day of that month. Do not use medicine past its expiration date.2
