How should Taltz® (ixekizumab) be stored?

Store ixekizumab in a refrigerator (2 ºC to 8 ºC) within the original box to protect it from light. Do not freeze. Ixekizumab may be stored unrefrigerated for up to 5 days by patients at a temperature not above 30 ºC.

Patients only allowable room temperature storage 

If needed, patients/caregivers may store ixekizumab at room temperature not above 30 °C for up to 5 days (120 hours) in the original carton to protect from light.1 

The allowable room temperature storage time may be one single 5-day exposure or can be broken up into multiple exposures. There is no limit to the number of room temperature exposures as long as the total time does not exceed 5 days (120 hours) for each individual device.2

Impact of freezing

Do not use frozen Taltz.1

Freezing temperatures can damage the medicine and the device.2

Do not shake

Do not vigorously shake ixekizumab as this can damage the medicine inside the device.2

Shelf life

Taltz has a shelf life of 2 years.1

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the syringe label and on the outer carton after “EXP”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.3

Do not use the medicine if it has expired.2
